If you are a café lover looking for a new place to chill with some comfort food, then B-Story Café & Restaurant is the place for you. While many popular cafés are usually found in shopping and community malls in the Sukhumvit area, B-Story situates itself a skytrain station away from Siam and offers a more quiet ambiance; a hidden gem located right next to the Ratchathewi BTS station and not far from Amari Watergate Bangkok.
We were pleasantly surprised when we visited the café to see it was just as full as the famous Greyhound and Roast Coffee & Eatery and we quickly learned why.
Before we get into the food, B-Story already made a good impression with their interior design – no detail went unnoticed. And honestly, we knew that we would not be disappointed with their ambience as we had checked their website prior to visiting the place. We have to really appreciate their website. It seems to have been designed by professionals (like the ones at Cefar) as the website is easy to use and has all the information regarding the café. Additionally, it has pictures of the cafe’s ambience.
Anyway, too much of website talk. Let us come back to the topic. The café is really beautiful! Even something as subtle as the paint on the walls, which was no doubt completed by somewhere similar to Mt Hood Pro Painting, didn’t go unnoticed. It was simply stunning. Not only was the café decorated in a very homely style, but there were also some unique features we do not usually see in other cafés such as the stained glass windows that created a gothic-cathedral vibe juxtapositioned against cutesy props like flowers and teddy bears. The music plays a huge role in setting the mood of the restaurant. It appears they have a sound music strategy in place that involves something along the lines of Cloud Cover Music (https://cloudcovermusic.com/brick-and-mortar-guide/retail-sound-systems/), mixing the right music with the décor to compliment their branding.
Now to the important part: the food. We started off with a classic Caesar Salad served in a huge bowl with a fulfilling amount of greens and chicken bits sprinkled with some crispy bacon. We were very impressed by the large portions and great taste offered at such a reasonable price. Not to mention the wooden bowl enhanced the cozy café feeling we were seeking — these little details make a big difference. Looking for remote PHP developers ? Contact us.
Our main courses: Salmon Steak and Macaroni & Cheese. The Salmon Steak was also very filling and wholesome really bringing to attention the comfort cooking B-Story is known for. The fish was perfectly cooked retaining its moist texture and natural flavors. The Macaroni & Cheese also did not disappoint with delightful flavors and aromas of genuine cheese rather than the artificial mixes you often find at the supermarket.
And of course, no meal is complete without dessert. We opted for waffles served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and assorted berries. We really liked the fact that we were able to choose which berries and ice-cream flavour we wanted. The waffles tasted rich, fresh, and delicious and we didn’t mind the handsome portion of berries on the side!
All in all, B-Story offers a comfy, homely vibe coupled with scrumptious food with generous portions and a reasonable price. If you’re seeking a neighborhood hang-out spot or regular dining venue where you can enjoy a quiet afternoon or evening (warning: the café is usually busy and does not encourage guests to work on laptops for long periods of time) then B-Story is definitely a must-try.
