Announcing Amari Havodda Maldives

November 3, 2014   /   byAnkita Sodhia  / Categories :  Amari Havodda Maldives, Hotels, Maldives, News

Today marks a very special day for all of us here at Amari. A milestone if you will. At World Travel Market (WTM) London today we announce our newest project, Amari Havodda Maldives to the World. The resort is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016.

What’s the fuss about?

Good question. Maldives has long been a goal for us and our parent company ONYX Hospitality Group as they strive to become one of Asia’s leading hospitality providers by 2018. We think most hotel operators would agree when they say opening a property in the Maldives is a big achievement. One that speaks volumes about where we are as a brand.

Amari Havodda Maldives will be situated on the Southern Gaafu Dhaalu atoll (pictured above), which is located 400km from the capital of Male. In travel worlds what this means is once you arrive in Male, you’ll need to take a short 55-minute domestic flight followed by a speedboat transfer.

We hope the perspective (pictured above) gives you a rough idea as to how the island will look. It’s worth noting that this perspective (along with the others below) should be taken with a pinch of salt. During the design phase, we’re always tweaking things here and there, so it’s highly likely that the end result may differ.

The resort itself will offer a private and pristine island hideaway on one of the most preserved atolls in the archipelago. We’re going to be offering two principal villa types – ‘beach’ and ‘overwater’, each of which will provide uninterrupted views over the reef and the ocean beyond.

Amari Havodda Maldives – The Guestrooms

The guestrooms are being designed by award-winning French designer Isabelle Miaja following a theme of ‘natural simplicity’ and sustainability. Each will offer a contemporary and restful environment, with subtle references to traditional Maldivian art and architecture. In total, the property will encompass 120 Villas, including 48 Beach Villas, 12 Beach Pool Villas, 58 Overwater Villas and two Overwater Pool Villas.

Here’s a sneak peek of how some of the guestrooms might look:
