Where to Stay?

Book a stay at Amari Galle, a luxurious beachfront resort featuring panoramic views of the Indian Ocean from the coastline. Drift off to the sound of soothing waves and wake up to a canvas of turquoise and blue as your surrounds.

Located two and a half hours from Colombo International Airport, along the main Colombo-Galle Road, Amari Galle is near all the attractions and local life but far enough to enjoy an oasis of calm.

Day 1

Because breakfast prepares you for the day, enjoy an excellent buffet breakfast of exciting Asian and international dishes prepared from live cooking stations at Ahara Gourmet Gallery, Amari Galle Sri Lanka.

Start the morning off by strolling around the Galle Fort, a UNESCO cultural heritage sight that definitely deserves a visit! Enjoy the colonial heritage and its exotic past.

After walking around outdoors, what’s better than taking a cafe break? We recommend the island’s most crepe specialist, “Crepe ology” that serves both sweet and savoury.

As you digest your crepe, take a quick visit to the Galle Fort Lighthouse and stroll along the white sandy beaches. You can also visit the Meeran Mosque as it is only a short walk away! (Don’t forget to dress appropriately)

Book a “Tuktuk Safari” tour to take you around the city! A fully inclusive trip with local destinations, local food stops and local drinks; all you need to bring is your camera to capture the thrilling moments!

Hands up if you’re up for some cocktail glam, head up to Bommu Rooftop Bar to enjoy cocktails and panoramic view – the ideal combination for you to chill.

Day 2

Have a healthy breakfast at Calorie Counter where you can find great tasting, nutritious, and high quality food. Decorated in warm hues of brown and located right in Galle Fort, Calorie Counter is cosy, convenient, and definitely ig-worthy!

Visit the Marine Archeological Museum, built in the late 17th century by the Portuguese. Combining stunning architecture and cultural exhibits,

Snap some IG-worthy photos and trace back to the colonial times and the old Dutch Reformed Church, the oldest church in Galle.

Let’s take a cafe break at The Shack Beach Cafe, a beachfront cafe that sells exotic drinks combined with local souvenirs that you can bring back home!

You can even book surfing session or other watersports activities here at The Shack Beach Cafe. Spend the adventurous afternoon exploring all the fun The Shack Beach has to offer! Don’t worry, all levels of surfers are welcome here!

Spend the evening and unwind at our Shoreline Beach Club featuring sensational drinks, followed by a seafood BBQ right at the beach. A short dip in the pool also sounds heavenly!

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at “A Minute by Tuk Tuk” while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean.

It’s art appreciation time at Stick No Bills Gallery, a one-of-a-kind place that displays, sells and celebrates vintage poster art.

Time to head to the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct! We recommend having lunch at “The Tuna & The Crab”, a restaurant that offers a distinctly unique dining experience that combines the finest local ingredients with expert Japanese culinary techniques.

After a sumptuous meal, it’s time to burn those calories! Spend a yoga afternoon at Sudharmalaya Temple, or you can just admire the whitewashed temple complex on the West side of Galle.
