One of Asia’s major international hubs, Bangkok has been growing, especially with the many available international cuisines across the city. But there’s one delicious spot has made a name for itself among locals and foreigners alike.
Originally from the streets of New York (circa 1977) is one of Bangkok’s favourite gourmet cafes and markets: Dean & Deluca.
As of right now, there are six branches scattered around the city:
- Central Embassy (10 minutes away from Amari Watergate Bangkok by car)
- Park Ventures (less than 15 minutes away from Amari Boulevard Bangkok)
- Emquartier (20 minutes away by BTS from Amari Boulevard Bangkok)
- MahaNakon CUBE
- Sathorn Sqaure
- The Crystal (a 25-minute car ride from Amari Residences Bangkok)
Specialising in western dishes, such as salads, pastas, sandwiches and pizzas, Dean & Deluca put the utmost pride and dedication into the quality and taste of their food.
Our team of Amari taste-testing experts decided to pay a visit to the MahaNakorn branch to try out the delicious dishes at Dean & Deluca for our fans! Here are the top 6 dishes that made it onto our list.
Start off your meal with some drinks: try out the fizzy New York Peach Soda or the creamy Mango Sticky Rice Frappe, a cool Thai twist to the frappe. Whichever glass suits your mood, it’s a sweet treat you’re sure to love!
1. Tropical Pancake
The perfect choice for breakfast and/or brunch, the Tropical Pancake is easy to enjoy. Layers of pancakes with fresh tropical fruits, whipped cream and finished with pure maple syrup.
2. Bacon Avocado & Asparagus
If you’re no longer impressed by Eggs Benedict, have a taste of the Bacon Avocado & Asparagus. It’s two slices of whole wheat toast with crispy bacon, asparagus and a fried egg on top. Finally, the pièce de résistance is the Hollandaise sauce that served alongside the dish.
3. The Dean Burger
This signature dish on Dean & Deluca’s menu comes in the form of a hearty burger with fries on the side. Perfectly seasoned with garlic and herbs, one bite of this delicious bacon and cheese covered goodness will have you hooked!
4. Tiger Prawn Fettuccine
Another excellent dish on the menu is the Tiger Prawn Fettuccine, cooked in a salty anchovy sauce and topped with two large tiger prawns. Rich and flavourful, this might be considered a little spicy, so keep your frappe close by!
5. Smoked Salmon Pizza
Add to the eating experience by ordering this dish to share. The Smoked Salmon Pizza is a thin-crusted pizza with tomatos, arugula (or rocket salad), and of course smoked salmon. This amazing combination of flavours works perfectly.
6. New York Cheesecake
Sometimes simple is all you really need: for dessert, we recommend the New York Cheesecake. Its smooth texture and rich flavour will have you taking bites without rest.
Overall, the atmosphere at most Dean & Deluca branches in Bangkok give off an urban chic vibe: modern decor and sleek wall designs. But depending on the branch’s size, each shop is filled with their many exclusively-sold gourmet products.
Considered to be the flagship store, the MahaNakon CUBE branch is currently the largest branch in the city, with seating on two floors, both a cafe and dining area, a deli, and market.
A nod to the delicious delis of New York, you’ll find all sorts of quality western food options here.
