3 Parks to Visit in BangkokMay 22, 2017 / byAri Struhl / Categories : Activities, Amari Boulevard Bangkok, Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok, Amari Watergate Bangkok, Bangkok, News, Thailand
Whether you’re travelling to Bangkok for business or for leisure, we all need to take some time off for relaxation. While the heart of Bangkok is known for its shopping malls and entertainment venues, we can still take a break from the chaos and get in touch with nature at the 3 Parks to Visit in Bangkok!
1. Lumpini Park
A 10-minute car ride from Amari Watergate Bangkok is Lumpini Park, a historical landmark. The park is mainly known for being a great jogging spot in the city. There are various other activities available for the public to enjoy, from aerobic and Tai-chi workouts, to Buddhist dharma activities, and all sorts of musical concerts throughout the year.
2. Benjasiri Park
While it’s on the smaller side, Benjasiri Park is especially popular for its great location: next to the recently renovated Emporium and Emquartier shopping centres. After a nice meal in one of the malls’ many restaurants and cafes, relax with a peaceful stroll around this clean park’s miniature lake, among its many trees and modern art pieces. There is also a nice playground for young children to enjoy while the adults take a break.
Like Lumpini Park, Benjasiri Park also hosts many musical concerts for the public to sit and listen to, which are especially lovely during the winter season. The park is accessible from BTS Phromphong, a 10-minute train ride from Amari Boulevard Bangkok.
3. Chatuchak Park/Suan Rot Fai Park
A short walk from BTS Mo Chit and MRT Chatuchak Park, these parks are also a half-hour ride away from Amari Don Muang Bangkok. Like any other park, you can jog, bike, or have a simple picnic on this large piece of nature. But, did you know they also offer activities like swimming, kayaking, and even sailing? They also host public football fields, tennis courts and the Train Museum and Butterfly Garden for visitors to enjoy!
